I'm living in Riverside, CA.I'm interested in buying 75-100 flat of ground cover, maybe Gazania or Ice Plant, for the slop around my new house. Does anyone know where can i get cheap or discounted or wholesale price for the ground cover?? I'm also looking for Flowering trees, but only a few, maybe 5. I went to Disneyland once and they have a very big rich yellow flower tree, been looking online for the same yellow flower tree but have no luck.my husband likes the purple tree.any recommendation on yellow and purple trees?what's the name and where to get it?Thank you!
Buy ground cover at low/discounted price?
If you are in Riverside I would go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and ask the special order desk or garden manager who their supplier is. There are dozens of growers in your area and they will sell to you at wholesale prices for that quantity. Gazania and Ice Plant are the same family and if you did not know will spread very quickly in our climate. You may want to think about cutting the amount in half and with proper irrigation in a year you will have double coverage. Also if you can at the end of the season (around November) if you can mow them over with the lawn mower set slightly higher than your grass and this will speed up growth. I don't know about the Yellow tree but the purple one is probably Crape Myrtle also a very fast grower and very showy. They come in Pink, white and purple that I know of. Good luck
