Does anyone know where I can get these cheaper?

I am ordering flowers wholesale and having a friend arrange them for us. We have a pretty good idea of what we are doing, but I would love to do some tall centerpieces, I found these:

http://www.save-on-crafts.com/silvervase...

But I was curious if anyone knew where to find them cheaper, I don't really need silver plated ones, aluminum or even plastic ones could work, I just want the silver look.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can get these cheaper?
Have you tried Wal Mart or local craft shops? Maybe even eBay, depending on how many you need to buy.

Good luck!
Reply:This is a whole sale place for tower vases and other vases. Unbelievable prices:

Here you go:

http://www.towervase.com/pages-main/inde...

Good luck
Reply:you can try www.orientaltraiding.com

they have lots of wedding supplies and comes in quantities and very cheap!

For an example... wedding bubbles, $6.95 for 24
Reply:you may have to go for glass or clear plastic, check out some craft stores. also some rental places rent alot of wedding stuff and they may have something like them, some florist may also have something they would rent. you could maybe even make something like them with some stuff from home depot and paint. look around, look around i'm sure you can find a less expensive alternative that gives the same look
Reply:don't know where to find those exact ones cheaper, but you could substitute a glass vase and spray paint it silver if that would do the trick for you
Reply:Hmmm...That is the website I would normally recommend as they have good prices. If you aren't wedded to the silver idea, they have clear glass ones for about 4-5/vase. You could wrap a piece of fabric or tie a ribbon around it to give more color (check out marthastewartweddings.com for a video about this).

If you must have silver, check out your local craft store, Michael's, Ben Franklin, or Hobby Lobby. If there is a Hobby Lobby near you, keep an eye out for sales (which they have frequently) and 40% off coupons (available on their website--www.hobbylobby.com--you can keep an eye on sales at that site too). You can only use one coupon at a time, but you can go through the line as many times as you want and you can take a friend....

good luck!
Reply:If you have a Michael's craft store around, they have something very similar. Also, have you tried to find somewhere that will rent them? Good Luck!
Reply:If the tall vases are for your guests tables at the reception, I wouldn't do it. They won't be able to see each other to talk because of the centerpiece. If they are for the buffet tables or the head table or cake table or the ceremony, that's fine. I would look at Walmart, Target and Flower Factory if you are a member. You should be able to find something that you like at a place like those.

Rainbow roses are available at It's A Blooming Business florist in the Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks California.

Reply:You want them cut, right? You don't want bushes.

Where are you? If you're in DFW, I might be interested in taking, say 3 dozen off your hands, depending on the price. If they're $5 a stem, that won't work. I wish I could talk my upcoming bride into using these. It would be dazzling.

Best wishes,

I saw them at It’s a Blooming Business Flower shop in the Fashion Square mall in Sherman Oaks. This cute flower shop in the mall is the only place in Los Angeles that seems to carry always these roses all the time. The roses aren’t cheap $9 each. http://www.itsabloomingbusiness.com

Retail florist in January, WHY?

isn't retail floristry in the uk depressing this time of the year. after the buzz of christmas, all you get are expencive wholesale flowers and few customers!. We dont even get any funeral orders as we are in a village that only gives money to charity (how selfish is that) I know valentines and mothers day is just around the corner, but then what till christmas again, a few weddings (when villagers are doing them half the price from home) some garden plants (when villagers are selling their own cuttings in their front gardens) and some mixed bunches ( when the fruit and veg and paper shop have cottened on and selling them at half price) what about silks? (the womens guild now sell them at stupid prices) When we started 3 years ago we were new and exciting, now every farmers wife and his 100 year mother are selling OUR ideas at a fraction of the price privatley. We are tied to the premisis for another 5 years and I love my job. (awarded the best in the county) what can I do to stay here

Retail florist in January, WHY?
All businesses such as yours will have competition from enthusiastic amateurs so you will have to start and think "outside of the box"

If you rely on your local community for support it looks like you might be in trouble. What about the following?

I presume you are interflora so can count on customers other than local?

Do you have a website where you can offer your services to a wider audience?

Can you do any local marketing yourself (ie flyers) in neighbouring villages or towns?

Can you widen your range of services to include (say) flower arranging courses?

Can you identify any large companies within close proximity of your shop who you may be able to interest with contract work - this could be very lucrative for you.

Is your shop big enough to section off so that you could sell something else in part of it?

What other needs do the village have which are currently unfulfilled by existing shops?

If you do nothing you will not survive in business

I wanted to do my own flowers for my reception because we're on a tight budget and some arrangements just look too easy. Try going to the LA flower district

if you have a friend with a business you can get a tax id number to gain the wholesale liscense. otherwise they open to the public after the hours of selling to florists.

Most flowers in bud form may take up to three days to open. Just make sure to arrange them maybe on the evening of the thursday prior to your wedding (if you are having a saturday wedding) be sure to cut each flower stalk freash when you bring it hoem and keep them in a cool space away from direct sunlight.
Reply:Just found an awesome site called Fifty Flowers that is cheap and has lots of great tips for wedding flowers. They look AWESOME. I am going with this for my wedding.

I totally agree!! We used FiftyFlowers for the flowers for my sister in law's wedding. We ordered an enormous amount of flowers of all kinds (calla lilies, orchids, roses, filler) and everything was gorgeous!

They flowers were beautiful, lasted a long time, came on time, no stress, were affordable and shipping was super fast!! In addition, they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

How many stems do I need???

I am going to be using calla lilies in my wedding. For my bouquet, bridesmaid's, boutineers, ceremony and reception decoration... everything. How many stems do I need? I am going to use mini callas for the bridesmaids and boutineers, big callas for my bouquet and a mix for the rest of the decorations. We are having four attendants on each side and then an additional 15 boutinees.corsages for close family members. I just want to get an idea of how many stems I need because I am looking into purchasing my flowers wholesale and doinf it myself... I just don't know where to start!

How many stems do I need???
I understand your situation. I am using tulips for my wedding in three weeks. I found a place online that sells them for really cheap. I figured 10 stems for my bouquet (but I dont want anything huge) and 7 for each bridesmaid. I figured one for each boutineere and two for each corsage. As far as the rest of your decorations, I dont know what you have in mind so I'm not sure what to tell you. Try to decide on specific decorations and figure out how many flowers you'll need. I'm using silk flowers for the decorations because we're decroating two days before so I'll not be stressed out the day of the wedding. Also, they place will ship my tulips to me to arrive the day before with care instructions. I'll put them in clean water and leave them in the fridge for abotu 4 hours, then make them the night before. Hope that helps. Calla Lillies are very expensive. However so are tulips (and they're almost impossible to find this time of year, so they're being shipped from the Netherlands). I'm paying $140 for 100 tulips. I'd search for a similar deal.
Reply:I would go buy a few silk flowers like the ones you will be using. Try the different styles of bouquets you will be using and write down how many you think looks good in your bouquet, the bridesmaids, etc. Then that should give you a pretty accurate count of the ones you will need and then order a dozen or so more just in case a few don't look so spiffy. Congratulations!
Reply:Because calla lilies are somewhat large and long, keep it simple for your bouquet. Maybe have 7 of them. Remember, it must be an odd number - they will photograph better.

Where do I buy stuffed animals (and other arts and crafts items) at wholesale prices?

My mom has a home-bussiness making artificial flower arrangements and stuffed animal arrangements, and I'm trying to find somewhere she can buy her materials for a cheaper price. For example, right now she's making Christmas Wreaths and we had to go buy them at Michael's for 5 bucks. We took advantage of the Black Tuesday Sales and were able to buy them for around 2bucks after coupons and everything. The thing is, I'm sure Michael's is still making a profit off of the wreaths even selling them for 2bucks, so where do THEY buy them? The same with the Teddy bears...even though we shop after Valentines or mother's day when the bears are usually half off, they're still expensive!! So, my question is, does anybody know where I can buy these items at a wholesale price??? Obviously I'd have to buy hundreds, but I think we would do it, since my mom uses so many throughout the year. I appreciate the help.

oriental trading company
Reply:She should consider making her own, as opposed to assembling from store-bought components. Otherwise she will always be stuck paying retail. To get the lowest price, she has to exploit slave labor and contribute to the Chinese poisoning of the environment and our children, and the stuff will fall apart right after they buy it.

I wa thinking of starting a service selling fresh flowers door to door?
well you will certainly save on overhead costs like rent, electricity etc - but it is a newish idea and may take a while to get going. i think people may be reluctant to buy in this way at first as it's something different and we are a nation who dislikes change!! but i think once you get a few regular customers and people see how it works then it could be a viable business.

this start-up guide on florists may have some useful info for you http://www.startups.co.uk/Florists.Yed8G...

and my best advice would be to think outside the box with your marketing - traditional advertising won't be effective for this sort of business, forget full page adds in the yellow pages - go for direct selling with a cheery smile and beams of confidence

Reply:I used to do this as a young child, and made a few quid doing it as well, I didnt get the flowers wholesale though, nicked em from the local woods:)

Great idea, if I were you I would put leaflets through ppls doors before hand to give them warning, also when people sell door to door the buyers expect cheap prices. The profit on flowers is excellent but then again you have to move them quick or you will be left with a load of dead stock.

Good luck
Reply:I dont know if your idea is the best...you might want to look into something like door to door in Businesses, not homes.
Reply:yes i think this is a good idea...as sometimes i want flowers to buy but can't be bothered to go out and get them....you should try leaving cards through doors so we can contact you when we need flowers...but don't get charging too much as this will put me off and others...good luck and good idea....
Reply:dont bother mate nobody would buy from you and its more trouble than its worth your better doing it buy renting/letting premises.

Does anyone know of any reputable flower companies online?

Upon considering everything, I have decided that ordering wholesale flowers online will be cheaper than consulting a florist to do all the work. I love to DIY, so I have decided that I will work on creating some of the arrangements for my wedding ceremony. What would be a good website to order wholesale flowers online? I have a few concerns though:

1. Is the company is reputable?

2. Quality of the products

3. Quality of the service.

If anyone has ever ordered flowers online please inform me of your experience.

I am a wedding consultant and we have used this website for a couple low-budget weddings. We have has very good experiences with them. The flowers arrived a couple days before the event and were fresh and beautiful.

Reply:I had great luck with www.theflowerexchange.com. I did my own flowers for my wedding and ordered them from this company. I was so pleased that for Thanksgiving dinner this year, I ordered a bunch more flowers. I cannot say enough great things about them.

I used this site: www.rosesource.com for my son's wedding. They sell ALL types of flowers, not just roses.

http://www.rosesource.com/

Yes, this company is reputable. You can see my testimonial signed "Gail B." on their site.

The only thing....research and know what you are getting into before you decide this! I would not suggest for you to make up complex arrangements/bouquets unless you have LOTS of help. Also....when is your wedding? What time of year? My son's was in the summer and we have an air conditioned house, so it all worked out. They caution you NOT to put the flowers into regular refrigerators.....just keep them cool. Also, since these are fresh flowers, you will need to have them delivered 2 days before the wedding....then do all the arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres the day BEFORE your wedding. It it LOTS of work! But, again, well worth it also!

I ordered 250 roses, which would have cost me $1,000 and I only paid (in 2006) $160!! Cheap! I did not do up bouquets, etc. I only used them for table arrangements for the rehearsal dinner, reception, church, cake table, etc.

Good luck!

I can not recommend them as the flowers appeared to be already dying as I took them out of the box. I had to start removing the unsightly ones the very next day and most were gone within 5 days.

DIY Wedding Flowers?

I am getting married in August '07 and have decided to make my own flower arragements w/ the help of my maid of honor, mother, and future mother-in law. I've never made flower arrangements, but the future MIL has. I am using all white or cream roses (not sure of the type). I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place in Southern Florida to buy wholesale roses? Also, if you have any extra advice that would be great too. Thanks!!

DIY Wedding Flowers?
I agree 100% about the fake flowers. Try a local produce store, farm market or grocery store.

We did this and spent under $700 for the entire wedding. Get delivery. If you want full blown roses ask them to leave them out. Keep your arrangements simple. Order some Baker's Fern and Baby's Breath for trim. Ribbon might be cheaper at a craft store.

We did it and it was beautiful. I have ABSOLUTELY no experience. LOL
Reply:Fresh and Local is the best! Good Luck to You! Report It

Reply:i second sams club or costco for roses. I used costco for my wedding flowers and they were just gorgeous. I arranged them myself and also purchased pew cones from www.pewcones.com for the ceremony and then carried the flower cones to the reception and hung them on chairs. Costco lets you order them about 1 month in advance and you can get them tight, medium, or open. I picked them up 2 days before the wedding and got medium. They were perfect by the weddign day. Good luck
Reply:go to costco. you can get a few dozen for under $20!

then you can try it first and it wont cost you a fortune.
Reply:my flowers were silk and they looked so real that no on realized that they were fake. I can put my flowers out in my home for decoration. All the money spent on them and I can enjoy them for a long time. MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT HEAVY you have to hold them a long time during pictures! This is for silk or fresh
Reply:You can't buy whole sell unless you have a tax ID #, but you can call a local florist for the flowers or go to a supermarket that sells flowers. I go with the florist if it is particular flower types you want, they may need to order them so give them at least a weeks notice.
Reply:Gooood luck, it's a lot more work than you'd ever imagine it to be.
Reply:I would stick with the hand-tied look. Something simple, but elegant. There are probably other areas you could save on if you are uncomfortable doing your own flowers. I would make sure the future MIL knew what she was talking about and see some examples of what she has done before going through with this. There are a lot of things to do the night before the wedding and you may not have time to make all of the flower arrangements, as you planned.

I agree about the white/cream flowers. You may want to use ribbons or something else to make your flowers stand out.

Costco does have some very reasonably priced roses. Good luck!
Reply:Search on line before you buy. They have great deals and if your color is not a specialty one the risk is very low! Hand tied is best for do-it-yourselfers....remember to blunt cut the ends so they are even and french braid the ribbon around the stems.

Good luck!
Reply:Honestly, I'd say use silk. Silk doesn't wilt and if you mess up you can redo them as many times as you want until you are happy.

With fresh flowers you will really only be able to do them the day before so if anything goes wrong you are in the weeds.

That being said freshroses.com has gotten great reviews from what I've seen and have discounts for bulk purchases like you are talking about. Order them two or three days before and put them in water with an asprin to preserve them so they have plenty of time to open up.
Reply:i found this webiste that gives tips and advice on how to make a wedding bouquet hope it helps it seems like it would

Reply:Sam's Club has great deals on roses. Typically, just at the store, they are about $13 for 2 dozen, and they have bulk rates at:

http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigat...

You have to be a Sam's club member, but they deliver to the store, and it is a great price and good quality.

Also, just my two cents as someone who works as a wedding coordinator, white and cream roses tend to disappear against the white dress. If you have your heart set on white and also have a white dress, then consider using a lot of greenery and maybe a touch of berries or filler flower to make it stand out from your dress.

Fire Mountain Gems is a great source, though perhaps not wholesale.

Oriental Traders--ditto, tho quality isn't quite up to Fire Mountain

Skip the internet searches; pick up a beaders' magazine like BeadStyle or Bead %26amp; Button. A number of the ads inside say they are wholesale. Never checked them myself, as my work is much more small-scale.

How do I start my own flower shop?

I have access to wholesale retailers since I live near Los Angeles. I have worked in a flower shop before(briefly). Other than getting a retail space, what other things are necessary? What specific equipment (fridge, buckets, etc.)?

How do I start my own flower shop?
You may want to read the article "Starting a Florist Shop Business" http://www.powerhomebiz.com/vol50/floris... . The article lists what you will need other than a retail space, and this includes refrigeration system, floral supplies, secondary products you want to sell, shelvings to display your plants and flowers among other things.

You may want to check out the following associations as they have tons of information if you want to start in this business:

Reply:Don't take this in a rude way, but if you need to ask what equipment you need, this may not be the business for you. If you are not familiar enough with flower shops to know the equipment, consider working at one longer so you can go in and really scrutinize what they do. You can see who manufactures their equipment and learn about good and bad suppliers. You will also see when most of their sales occur, find out which advertising methods bring in the most customers (ie: bridal fairs versus yellow pages). If this is something that really interests you, you are probably at the stage of needing to learn a lot more about it to be successful.

You may also want to consider partnering with someone who does know about it, but you'd need to be sure to bring something to the table, too, such as funding. If you don't have funds or know-how, lenders are going to be reluctant to help you out. I'd suggest one year experience, but you can be doing a lot of planning during that time. That way when you quit, you walk from your employer's florist shop into your own with a little more money in your pocket from the work and considerably better preparation.
Reply:The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal %26amp; Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

How to start a garden nursery and fruit tree orchard?

I'm going to be buying about 100 acres for about 2 million dollars in central Ohio. I've always wanted to start my own nursery but I have a few questions about doing so. First of all where do I get the plants and trees? Also things like flowers and tropical house plants to sell. I'd also like to sell mulch, garden decorations, seeds, and also things like stone and patio pavers. Where do I get this stuff from, and probably in wholesale? I'd also like to plant peach, apple, nectarine, etc. trees so people can come and pick the fruit and stuff. I'd also like to try grapes and banana, lime, orange, and lemon tree in greenhouses. Where can I get the things like greenhouses from also. I'd also like vegetables and things. How much will all of this cost and how much money can I make a year from this business. There would also have to be like a water pond and a system to water all of the plants. Now I'd probably only want to use about 50 of the acres, maybe 75 alltogether of the 100

How to start a garden nursery and fruit tree orchard?
There are several wholesale nurseries out here in CA, like Monrovia, who can supply you. Check out where your local nurseries are getting their plants from. Home Depot gets many of their plants from Monrovia and Lowes has Jackson Perkins as their supplier. You are going to have to cost out which supplier is cheapest for the types of plant material you want. As for water and electricity, you will have to consult your local utility supplier to determine rates. You probably can build your own greenhouse, but you will have to cost out supplies to do so.
Reply:How much you make depends on what you know, and what you can sell. Many nurserymen produce large quantities of plants and flowers, for home and garden WITHOUT `buying in`. Obviously a knowledge of cultivation for a wide range of products is desirable. You will need to know your soil, climate, and customer base well. Good suppliers for plant material are essential, as is knowing your market, having good variety, and supplying knowledgeable advice. If you can specialize in a range of plants/trees/products, so much the better. Greenhouses can cost BIG, but are essential for houseplants, tender plants, and coffee shop ! You should `spy` on the BEST nursery you know - then do better !
Reply:Contact your region's Nursery %26amp; Landscaper's Association. I'm not sure what the organization's exact name is in your area, but here in Texas it's simply the TNLA: Texas Nursery %26amp; Landscaper's Association. There should be one for your area. There you can find the answers for all the questions you have.
Reply:20,000 an acre? Way too much.

I'm looking for inexpensive green flowers for bridesmaid bouquets. Any suggestions?

I have seen cybidium (sp?) orchids and green hydrangea but they are pretty pricey unless I buy wholesale online. i would prefer to work with a florist but could buy online if need be. If someone could offer some alternatives, I would be pretty excited. Thanks!

I'm looking for inexpensive green flowers for bridesmaid bouquets. Any suggestions?
Chrysanthemums come in green. I think they sometimes call them poms. There is also a flower/filler called mollucela- it's long and skinny like snapdragons. Also, you can get green roses and green lisianthus.

My mom grows green zinnias in her garden from late spring until early fall- they would be pretty in a bouquet, but I'm not sure if you can get them from a florist.

Good luck and congratulations on the wedding!
Reply:Your florist should have sprays to color flowers. They could even spray white roses to green.
Reply:Real white hydrangeas have a beautiful pale green tint!
Reply:I have seen fake orchids that look surprisingly real. I found them at Michael's, and they were pretty inexpensive. No one would be able to tell unless they looked very close. You could put the bouquets together and save a ton of money.

I didn't use orchids, but I used silk flowers at my wedding and for my bouquet, three bridesmaid bouquets, and 15 pin-on flowers for the groomsmen, parents, special guests, etc. I spent only $40.
Reply:Maybe placing an online order at Sam's, 1-800-flowers or at a local florist that can order them cheap.
Reply:you can always get carnations (sp) and put them in green food coloring for little flowers with a tinge of white and mostly green, also many gerber daises come in green and they usually not too expensive.
Reply:Perhaps you could order from WalMart, or some place like that.
Reply:Go to Sams Club - they're florists there know alot %26amp; will offer a ton of options.
Reply:I'm a little surprised that you say hydrangea is expensive. I'm using an antique green hydrangea as the main flower in all my arrangements and it has been very cost effective (I'm working with a florist). Not only does it take up lots of space in the arrangements, but it holds up extremely well to heat and temperature changes. I would rethink not using them, you may save yourself some $$ b/c it cuts out the need for a lot of smaller more expensive flowers (yes orchids ARE pricey!). I'm using a pale lilac cybidium orchid in my arrangements as well, but due to their price, there will only be one stem per centerpiece and it will be suspended in the glass vase under the main arrangement.
Reply:There are a lot of online sites that provide fresh flowers for wedding events. Some of them are flower.com, fromyouflower.com and Dutch Gardens. All of them offer same day delivery as the day you placed your order, to ensure the flowers are fresh and in good condition.

As valentine's day is closing, you will be able to get a good deal if you use one of the promotional coupons at http://freeflowercoupon.blogspot.com/. At From You Flowers, most of their flowers start at a very low price of $29.95 and I'm sure you will be able to get a better price if you order for a bulk purchase!

Has anyone used flowers from fiftyflowers.com?

The website says you get them for wholesale prices and my mom used to be a florist so it could save me a bunch of money on flowers. Has anyone ordered anything from them before? If so would you do it again?

Has anyone used flowers from fiftyflowers.com?
Hi!

I used fifty flowers.com for my wedding in September 8.

The girl from customer service guided me through all the process and make it very helpful. I was able to get the perfect tone of pink roses that i needed.

The delivery was on time too!!!

The flowers for my wedding were all gorgeouse.

I totally recommend them.
Reply:Hey there!

My best friend used FiftyFlowers for her wedding. She ordered Mini Callas and Roses. Flowers were amazing!! and the price very convenient.. She got greenery included on the DIY Wedding combos.. A perfect deal for DIY brides!

I will definitely use FiftyFlowers for my upcoming wedding on December 13th...
Reply:I have been ordering fiftyflowers from long time ago, flowers arrive fresh and they have a very good quality. Shipping is included also it just take 4 days to be delivered to my doorstep.

I recommend brides to buy centerpieces and bouquets for their weddings, they have many varieties and colors.

I will absolutely buy again flowers from fiftyflowers
Reply:Yes I have used them about 25 times. I am a wedding planner in the Dallas Ft. Worth Area. I love their flowers, their service is amazing and 100% trustworthy. I met them at the Dallas Bridal Show held at the convention center. I love the fact that they participate and I can talk with them face to face. Every experience I have had with them has been wonderful and I recommend them to all of my friends, family and clients. Great flowers!
Reply:i've never used them, but have used www.growersbox.com, www.flowerbud.com and www.pacificcallas.com. they worked great.
Reply:I have used Fiftyflowers.com for my sister's wedding. At the beginning I was really concern about the big task I was handling. I was under stress, but after a friend recommended me this site, and I got in touch with a customer service representative, she let me realize how simple it was to order flowers online. I had a low budget but I was willing to do something beautiful for my little sister's wedding. I bought some roses, calla lilies, gerberas and some greens and arranged centerpieces, bridesmaid bouquets and bridal bouquet with some relatives help. I was amazed how beautiful it looked. The freshness of their flowers is guarantee. I will order more flowers for my wedding as well.
Reply:I have! I ordered roses, lilies and spray roses for my Dec wedding. Let me tell you, the flowers were gorgeous! Everyone of my guests commented on them. I was really happy I ordered from them, not only because of the great flowers and service I received, but because I could save some money for my honeymoon!

And yes, I'm planning to order some petals for Valentine's day :).
Reply:Hi there,

My sister used them, she order some tulips, roses and rose petals. The flowers are really fresh and beautiful; also if you have any question you can call the customer service which is amazing. She was really pleased. Something that I know sure it is that I am going to order my weeding flowers from them. :)
Reply:I helped my best friend with her wedding flowers, I wrote some emails to Fifty flowers team asking for some guidance on how to do it: quantities, delivery date, and kind of flowers to work with (in this case it will be easier for you because of your mother) she had a very organ iced team helping with her flowers and everything turned out beautiful. The flowers were beautiful and the service great too. She was very happy.

How much should I spend on supplies for a paper bag album? Where should I get a large amount of supplies?

I am starting to make paper albums to sell on eBay and I'm not quite sure how much I should spend on them. Whats a reasonable amount to spend and still make a good amount of money back???

Also, I've been shopping at michaels, joanns, hobby lobby, walmart, etc. and I don't feel like I should be spending $4 for 12 flowers all the time. Is there some place that wholesale sells scrapbook items (embellishments, flowers, paper) online that anyone knows of?

How much should I spend on supplies for a paper bag album? Where should I get a large amount of supplies?
What type of flowers are you wanting such as what size and what color? may be able to help you get a bul order but I need to know what you want and I can send you pictures of what I have access to as well as prices. Send me a message at fradykat_flora@yahoo.com and we will go from there.
Reply:You can get a lot of great supplies in the larger dollar stores -- and don't just look in the scrapbooking supplies, look in the kitchen supplies for the paper bags, and paper doilies, check out the tissue wrapping paper and other wrapping papers. Look around your house for recycleable items -- one of my favourite embellishments is the plastic mesh onion bags! the inside of potato chip bags gives you a wonderful silver paper that costs a fortune at Micheal's -- magazine clippings -- I have a expandable file with all sorts of images that I have cut out and use depending on the subject -- take a look at some of your old clothes -- t-shirts that have no use can be cut into thin "strings" and used to embellish, you can tie them or sew them right onto the pages, same with buttons or buckles or any type of attachment on old clothes. Unravel the yarn from and old sweater, or scarf -- use an old scarf, cut up. You need to look at everything you throw in the garbage before you throw it away. Pop cans can be cut open and holes punched and attached as a frame, or write on them for a raised type of printing...

Another source of classy papers is the paint and wallpaper store, you can usually get the old wallpaper books for free or for a small price -- I have paid $4 for a huge wallpaper sample book that would be equal to a $40 pack of papers at Micheals...

And as in the previous answer, don't forget your local thrift stores -- silk flowers, laces, ribbons, old magazines and books.

If you buy stuff new, you will have the same looking product as everyone else. You need to source your supplies from unusual places. If you buy online your prices will not be much different and on top of it you have to pay shipping costs too. Look in your own house and yard for unusual things, look at things differently than everybody else and you will begin to have a 'style' of your own, that buyers will begin to look for.
Reply:To find the information you want online, your best bet would be to simply type the product you are looking for and add "+ discount" you will be able to choose the listing that best fits your needs. Many wholesale sites sell only to businesses with a license and tax ID number.

You should watch in your local area for going out of business sales because many scrapbooking stores are going out of business since the fad has slowed down a lot.

I have found a lot of supplies at my charity thrift stores, since stores receive tax breaks by donating unsold inventory. I have about a half dozen stores I visit on a weekly basis.

There is no way to know what you should pay, other than Wal Mart is usually the lowest price retail, and so you can use their prices for a figure to beat.

You can also find the supplies to make the albums right on e-bay, as well.
Reply:Flowers are a huge $ suck. I recommend watching the dollar spot at Target when they have flowers there. I just bought a couple multicolored lei's there. I took the lei's apart and have more flowers than I know what to do with! Watch sales. Buy silk flowers on the stem and take them apart.

Get your supplies in bulk if you don't have a retailers license. Some places will cut you a deal if you ask them. Good luck!

Another hint is that since paper bag albums are not acid free, don't feel like you have to use only acid free product on them. They will yellow and age over time, so go wild! Use wrapping paper and other things that you find. It makes them more interesting!
Reply:hi, if you find out where to get supplies in larg quanties please let me know cause i need lots of cardstock for a project im making as well..

thanks

cheryl v
Reply:I think you can buy paper bags in surplus from Uline. As far as the wholesale prices on scrapbook items: most manufacturers require you to have a business license (because they do not charge you sales tax) in order for you to purchase. You most likely will also have a minimum purchase requirement.

You can get a business license pretty cheap by simply filing under your social security number at your local government licensing office. I think mine was $100.

Once you have your bus. license number, just look for the manufacturer's name on the items you buy the most and search for them on the web. I did this when looking for double sided tape and packaging and saved up to 50% off of retail pricing. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Good Wholesale Florist in Tampa Bay Florida?

I am looking for a good wholesale florist in Tampa Bay Florida. Preferably in Pinellas. Some one who sells fresh flowers in bulk.

Thanks in advance.

Good Wholesale Florist in Tampa Bay Florida?
Here's one that's close: ... MIDDLESEX WHOLESALE FLORIST, 813-662-9539.
Reply:you can get fresh flowers in bulk on Saturday at the Ybor City Farmer's Market (free parking) I was maid of honor in a my friends wedding in Nov of 2000 (she's Puerto Rican so that's how her family always knew to get large amounts of fresh flowers).

so saying that because I can honestly recommend it and I live in Tampa, why not try http://www.clearwaterfarmersmarket.com/

my fiance lives in Clearwater (the Farmer's market is downtown by the Post office) and I may try that since our weddng will be over there. Vendors sell FRESH flowers, you should be abel to negotiate a price for a large pre-order in bulk. They live for stuff like that, and also, try more than one vendor if you cannot get a large enough supply.

Bulk flowers from sams club or costco?

Has anyone ever ordered flowers online at a wholesale store like costco or sams club? They have great prices, so I thought it would be a good way to cut costs for a wedding, but I dont want to regret it if they are crappy.

Bulk flowers from sams club or costco?
I cannot help with Sams or Costco, but if you are considering order tulips, check out this website. www.growingtulips.com

they were great for me, I ordered 100 stems and put them together myself and had plenty left over for different things. They were shipped here from The Netherlands and were fresh and packed in ice since my wedding was last July, in Texas. Despite the extreme heat they were perfect and very cheap.
Reply:Always order a "sample" from ANY company, to see their quality before making them your florist.

In past experience though sams club usually does a good job with their flowers. Know nothing of costco's floral dept.
Reply:One of my good friends got her wedding flowers from Sam's Club and they were absolutely beautiful. She ordered from the store, though so I'm not sure about online... I wouldn't recommend ordering something as important as your wedding flowers online. There are too many things that could happen. Maybe go to the wholesale store in person and check them out.
Reply:Go to a flower wholesaler...not Costco or Sams. They might have lower prices, but you'll regret it in the end. Flower wholesalers are usually going to be open from 5am-1 or 2pm so get there early. They have the best quality and the prices are really great. You can buy in bulk and they will give you fantastic discounts. It will also give you the opportunity to see what colors are aorund and what will be the cheapest during the season. Try doing a search in yahoo local for flower wholesale in a large city near you. Good luck!
Reply:would you have to set them up yourself or do have someone to take of that for you? perhaps talk to a staff member at your nearest location and get a sample then you can actually put a face to your order its a big important wedding aspect that you need someone to consult with i think
Reply:don't do it........
Reply:THe thing is, they can be hard to work with. You order 1000 roses and you are shipped 1000 roses. You are responsible for soaking them for a day, getting them in vases or however you want them, removing the petals (you remove the outer petals), trimming the stems, and of course, setting them up. Who are you going to trust to do set them up? It will have to be done the day of the wedding and you and your bridal party will be busy with wedding stuff. I looked into it but it was far too much hassle for me and with having to purchase all the extras and spend my time doing it, I don't know that the cost difference would have been that great.

Either way, best of luck in your planning, your wedding and your marriage!
Reply:Only do this if you have someone who knows how to prep fresh flowers. Sams flowers are beautiful you must get them in at least 2 days before the event. It is a lot of work and you need the correct equipment to work with or you could damage the stem and kill the flower. So do some research and count the full cost before you do this.
Reply:They always "look" nice in the store.
Reply:I ordered the roses (hundreds of them) for my daughter's wedding from 2GRoses and, the day before the wedding, several of my friends came over and helped me arrange place card vases with the roses, baby's breath, and fern. The tables had individual cakes as centerpieces with the place card vases providing the touch of color and flowers. The guests took their little vases home as their favors. The roses were absolutely beautiful; I did order samples of about 15 different colors earlier in order to decide which color would work best. If you have somebody who can help with the arrangements, then I wouldn't hesitate. I also have a friend who used bowls of ivy as the centerpieces, with roses stuck in watering tubes into the ivy. It was lovely, and not terribly expensive.
Reply:I don't know about Costo, but I've used Sam's Club flowers for years and they are gorgeous. Never had a problem at all.
Reply:I know the prices are tempting, but I wouldn't do it for fear that the flowers will be crappy. I'd go with a florist or someone where I'll be able to SEE the flowers first.

If you're looking into cost-saving ideas, think about getting flowers from close family members' yards. You'll have beautiful bouquets and centerpieces at no cost, and plus they'll be meaningful!
Reply:I think you would regret it...big time!

Doing wedding flowers...?

I am doing the wedding flowers for my Minister's wedding in November. I have been looking for good reliable sources of fresh flowers that I can order. Does anyone know where I can order good quality fresh flowers...at preferably wholesale prices that I don't have to purchase a minimum amount of each kind of flower. It's a really small wedding. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Reply:www.samsclub.com. I got my flowers from them and they were beautiful and inexpensive.
Reply:I think their might be a minimum (like 50), but Costco has good flowers. My friend ordered her flowers through them and then arranged them herself.
Reply:We went to the farmers' market and talked to a grower of flowers. She had us come to her farm the day before the wedding. We picked the ones that we wanted. We got a book at a crafts store. The night before the wedding, we had people come to our house, and we made the bouquets.

For the bride's bouquet, we got five calla lilies at the supermarket for $15.00.

Good luck.
Reply:Check out www.growersbox.com

They do have min. orders for wholesale, but they also have a really great section called "wedding in a box"

for a small wedding you could purchase one box and cover everything. It even has the greenery included.

Both are to the trade:

www.ndi.com in the catalog named Stems. They have high end floral arrangements as well as stems. These are beautiful.

www.barreveld.com

They are inexpensive. And have many things to make unique centerpieces, etc. You need to show a tax ID to enter into the site.

Wedding flowers?

i'm planning my wedding. when you got married, did you go to a florist and have them do everything, or did you buy your flowers wholesale? if so, who created your bouquet and arrangements? i really want irises and either white roses or calla lilies, but i dont know where to start on finding them (i havent gone to any florists yet). i've just been looking online, and i found lots of wholesalers where i can get each flower at about $1.25 (give or take) a stem, so for like 225 flowers it would only cost around $300. i can arange them myself (i think), but i dont know how to make the bouquet. but i dont know what a florist would charge to get the flowers and do all the arrangments herself.just thought i'd get some ideas for you guys. my wedding isnt until may 2009, so its not a rush kinda thing. for valentines day, my fiance and i each got eachother irises, both arranged by ourselves cause they just came as buds in a box and came out great so i dont think that parts an issue

Wedding flowers?
my mom is a florist and did all of my flowers, we did mostly silk so that the week before the wedding wasn't overwhelming. you can easily make hand tied bouquets but realize that's one more thing you need to do the week before the wedding and that week goes fast. as for the flowers you mentioned, i don't think calli lillies are that price whole sale but you should still be able to find them cheaper than at a florist. if you have a family member that is willing to help that would make a difference, if not you may want to spend the extra cash and have a florist do it for you.
Reply:when I got married, I had Loblaws create a bouquet of Casa Blanca Lillies...they were absolutley stunning...and very reasonable.

check out places like Wallmart, Loblaws,...etc...they're very reasonable, and really nice arrangements.

(remember after the day,...they don't last very long,.....put your money towards something else).....

also...keep the arrangement very simple..less is best
Reply:When I got married, I bought all of my flowers wholesale and my Mom did all of my bouquets... They turned out beautiful and have much more meaning to me than if I had just hired someone to do them. Silk flowers may be an option (that is what I used) they look real and keep forever. As far as making a bouquet, they can be as simple or elaborate as you want them. Flowers in weddings have become so versatile that you can go from one simple long stem to a bouquet the size of a basketball... that is really personal preference.
Reply:I made my own and used fresh flowers. I was able to buy tulips online and they were packed well and were in excellent condition despite the hard texas july heat (and tuplis are a spring cool temp flower). I had them delivered Friday morning and my wedding was Saturday. My moh, my mother and a family friend put them together the night before the wedding. They turned out great. You need to be able to keep them in the fridge though, so make sure you have room and dont have them shipped too far in advance. You're taking a change that they might not arrive, so I was very nervous, but it turned out fine. I had a back up plan to go buy silk flowers at the last minute just in case but I did not need to. I found a lot of help on making the arrangements and getting ideas from www.bhg.com.
Reply:I went with a florist - and a wedding planner. She's taking care of about 90% of everything - right down to making hotel/limo/dinner/makeup/hair reservations... cake... you name it, she's taking care of it for me. Even is finding a place to have my gown/veil steamed before the wedding.

Gotta love it!

I'm doing a destination/elopement wedding on the other side of the country. So she's been a great help!

Good luck and Congratulations!!!
Reply:I don't recommend doing flowers yourself. I almost never do. Florists know how to process the flowers etc from beginning to end. Wedding flowers are a lot more involved than people really know. Wholesalers usually only sell to floral shops. Unless you have a flower market near you that would work. Keep in mind the price of flowers fluctuates. Prices go up and down depending upon the harshness of the season, oil prices(to heat greenhouses , shipping etc.) supply and demand of certain fad flowers and colors.

I advise having a consultation with a floral designer. I am one and I never charge for the first meeting. Make sure before you call for the appointment you have all of the dresses picked out, swatches are helpful too. Be prepared. Have a list of everything you need. The less you have to go back to the designer the less your flowers are. Pick up your bouquets and boutonnieres instead of having them dropped off if that is all the flowers you are buying. Good luck :)

By the way Iris are lovely and especially at that time of year!
Reply:i had my florist do it all. i told her what i wanted and she more than came through. i would hire a florist you do not want to stress out about how your flowers look and how many boquets you do. can you be sure that you can have all the bridesmaids look equal?

Can i order from a floral wholsaler with a simple business privilege license for retail?

I have a business...it has nothing to do with flowers. But i have a retail license nonetheless. I should be able to order supplies that aren't necessarily for resale correct? If i am planning a huge event for my business, i should be able to use my license for supplies for floral arrangments rather than paying an actual florist, for example, correct? As long as it is business related, i should have no problem with opening accounts with wholesalers, right? Or do i specifically have to be a florist to buy flowers wholesale?

Can i order from a floral wholsaler with a simple business privilege license for retail?
If you buy products for end use you have to pay sales tax or use tax on the purchase. Yes, you can buy the materials at wholesale prices from a wholesaler, but you will have to report and pay taxes.

You can open accounts with any potential vendor, that is not an issue, but if you don't resell the merchandise you buy from a wholesaler, you have to pay taxes on it.
Reply:They may only want to deal with actual retail florists. It's the wholesalers decision

Reply:where abouts are you? In london you can get up very very early and go to the wholesale market... or ask a market trader at your local market for ideas or they may even supply you at reasonable cost..... search yellow pages (old but good way) or again try the net...........

been married 30 yrs this week and wondering why???
Reply:try e bay or google or do you live by a supplyer look in yellow pages if in uk
Reply:If you're in or near London the best place is New Covent Garden. Have to get there early though.
Reply:Wholesalers usually will not sell to the general public unless you are an actual retail merchant and have a certificate to prove it. You can however sometimes buy the flowers from a florist at a decent price if you tell them you JUST want the cut flowers and dont' need it arranged or made into bouquets. There are sometimes farmers' type markets open in larger cities as well, but it depends on where you live whether or not you have access to one. Certain stores sell cut flowers at pretty decent prices...some grocery stores even, though I know from personal experience that we (My family has been in the florist business for many years) sell cut flowers for less than what you would pay for them at the grocery store or Home Depot or any of the other retail locations. Your best bet is to look up all the florists and greenhouses in your area and then call them up, asking for prices for CUT flowers by the bunch just for pickup and just wrapped up in paper, nothing that a designer needs to do. You will not be able to ask for 3 roses or 2 stems of lilies though (you can, but it is more expensive stem by stem), etc.... if you want good prices you will need to buy them by the bunch or at least by the dozen if it's roses you are looking for. The least expensive flowers are alstromeria, mini carnations, daisies, pomps (florist cut chyrsanthemums) and filler flowers like waxflower, statice, caspia or monte casino. Tulips are inexpensive and very readily available right now, but if your wedding is not going to be soon, they might be pricier at a different time of year. Roses, Lilies, calla lilies, orchids, stephanotis, gardenia, etc.... are the pricier flowers and some are also a special order item.

Does anyone know where i can find ceramic bowls with pitchers in wholesale prices?

this are the old fashion pitchers and bowls which were used in old times for bathing purposes. i am doing a baby shower and thought having them as centerpieces with dry flowers in them who be a nice idea.

Does anyone know where i can find ceramic bowls with pitchers in wholesale prices?
try ebay
Reply:They are called EWERS and LAVABOS.
Reply:I'm not sure they are being actively made anymore, except perhaps as antique reproductions. Have you tried going to some of the less expensive antique stores? Maybe where you live there's no such critter, but around here we have enough dealers in old stuff that some of them have some pretty reasonable prices for things that were pretty common in olden times. Those washbowl sets are still very much around, and shouldn't be too hard to find. It may also be worthwhile to sort your way through a web search on the term "antique reproductions" and see what pops up. For all I know, they are common as Victorian decor items and reproduced constantly.
Reply:I tried looking this up in google... there are 3 MILLION 7 HUNDRED and 70 THOUSAND listing for glass and ceramic bowls...

It may take a bit of time to look, but I can't imagine you won't find what you are looking for.
Reply:That is a great idea! Try import stores or peir one or maybe go to a cermic shop and see if they have one made.

Good luck.
Reply:I DONT KNOW WHAT AREA YOU LIVE IN BUT IF YOU HAVE A TAX ID # YOU CAN ORDER THRU NORMAN SMITH ENTERPRISES IN PAULSBORO, NJ BUT REMEMBER SHIPPING COSTDS ON CERAMIC PRODUCTS ARE NOT CHEAP. DO SOME RESEARCH ON LINE BECAUSE THERE ARE WHOLESALE TO THE PUBLIC PLACES THAT WILL SELL TO YOU.
Reply:Try antique shops, or even better prices at the junk stores like Sally's Army.

I own a Christian Bookstore and I'm looking for Bibles in a wood case wholesale. Can anyone help?

I heard that they are called Memorial Bibles.I found some retail, but I can't find any wholesale. They are being used now in place of sending flowers to families that have lost a love one. They are regular Holy Bibles engraved in a wooden box or case.

I own a Christian Bookstore and I'm looking for Bibles in a wood case wholesale. Can anyone help?
You might get a better bargain if you buy the Bibles and cases from different vendors. Try the following for wood cases ...

Is there ANYWHERE I can buy (cheap) just a few flowers so I can arrange them myself?

I usually arrange about 15 medium vases and 5 large vases per week. I want the wholesale price, because I'll be a regular customer, without the huge quantity. I'm a one-lady charity service (I give the flowers away to sick %26amp; forgotten). I live in Dallas, though I'd love to order over the internet...I order my supplies that way...

Is there ANYWHERE I can buy (cheap) just a few flowers so I can arrange them myself?
Wow. what a terrific thing you are doing. I would try Cos co or Sam's Club and Greenhouses. If you do bulk buying, I don't see why they wouldn't work on the price for you. Tell them you are doing it for charity too! Good luck!
Reply:Over the internet...I'm not sure. Here in CT you can go in most grocery stores to get flowers that you can arrange yourself.
Reply:there are lots of places on the internet -- i have gotten orchid sprays and anthuriums in bulk for pretty cheap. just google. they ship directly from the grower -- so its cheap for you.
Reply:Go to the grocery store at night. They usually discount the flowers in the evenings...also ask them when they get rid of the flowers (there might be one night a week). You might be able to pick them up free! And they will still be in decent shape.

I know it's not over the internet, but hey! if you want cheap stuff...

EDIT: Ok, you confuse me. Your question says "just a few flowers" and "without the huge quantity". Anyway, it's nice that you are giving the flowers as charitable donations. Good job.
Reply:the cheapest i know is food basics/ no frills etc.

well u can talk to the manager of the store. because these people take off the flowers after 2 to 3 days though the flowers look fresh.

u can talk to the manager so that he will sell u for cheaper price instead of throwing them in garbage.

he might understand ur social cause
Reply:Go to a local florist and ask them their suppliers name! If the first one doesn't give you the name. ask others.

Looking for a wholesale flower shop in the chicago area?

Has anyone ever used an online wholesale flower company for wedding?

I am looking at growersbox.com and am wondering if anyone has used them or another company like it and what you thought.

Has anyone ever used an online wholesale flower company for wedding?
I know people that have gotten them from there and they were so beautiful. If you do get them cut the stems as soon as they arive put them in water and in a cool place so they won't die.

Best of luck to you.
Reply:Do you have to be shrewd with every nickel? A local florist is going to be able to correct anything that goes wrong without much of a fuss.

I was a wedding photographer. I never saw a wedding that came off without a hitch.
Reply:Go local. That way you have some kind of recourse. Unfortunately with the online stores, you can be SOOL when the order is wrong or even a no-show.

Many local produce and even grocery stores will handle wholesale flowers for you and include delivery for a very reasonable fee. I'm in MI and had fantastic luck with Horrocks.
Reply:If you go to http://www.wedding-savings-for-bride-gro... and fill out a simple form with what you are looking for, you will get up to 4 price quotes from local florists. This way you can negotiate between them and hire the one who best meets your needs. There is no cost for this service or obligation to use any vendor who contacts you.
Reply:ive ordered flowers from proflowers pretty expensive to do a whole wedding but they usually come fresh from online places
Reply:I reccommend www.freshroses.com. I have never heard one complaint and tons of satisified brides.

Order the flowers two or three days beforehand so they have time to open up. Follow the directions they send and make sure you keep them in a cool place with plenty of water, preferably out of direct sunlight.
Reply:i havent, but i dont know if i would trust an online place like that. you never know what youre gittin. so you could go pay all this money and then end up with sh*t.

Has anyone bought flowers from www.fiftyflowers.com? Or know of anyone who has?

I was looking at this site:

http://www.fiftyflowers.com

for wedding flowers, we we'd like to go with an assortment of different kinds. Anyone have any experience with these people? If not, can you suggest any reliable wholesale or bulk flower sites I could look into?

Has anyone bought flowers from www.fiftyflowers.com? Or know of anyone who has?
They are OK (even though they are one of our competitors, :-)) I know a couple of brides who brought in the flowers they had gotten from them. They are a bit pricey, though. I would ask a local florist if they can get these flowers at wholesale price. For example, we do that all the time.

Remember, however, that fiftyflowers don't guarantee the color. Buried deep in their FAQ, here's what they say:

"For this reason, it is impossible to fully guarantee that the color of a flower you see today will be the exact color in 6 months. Keep in mind, the color variations are not drastic. It is the color’s tone that varies. If you are concerned about matching your wedding dress or bridesmaid’s dresses precisely with one of our flowers, this is highly discouraged."

In fact, no florist (retail or wholesaler) can guarantee exact same color. But your mom%26amp;pop florist would at least try. Not sure about the on-line wholesaler, who is basically a subdivision of an importer.

Calla Lilies: Looking for calla lily wholesale company to supply flowers for Ontario wedding?

My daughter is getting married in Ontario, Canada (York Region) and is looking for a supplier to deliver bulk, fresh, calla lilies a couple of days before her wedding in July 2007. We are going to be making the bouquets ourselves. We can find many companies in the U.S, but we can't find any that will deliver across the border to Ontario.

Calla Lilies: Looking for calla lily wholesale company to supply flowers for Ontario wedding?
I am looking to include Calla Lilies in my wedding as well so I have been looking at sites. I just double checked a site I had bookmarked and they ship to Canada. Not how many stems you wanted but they require at least 50.

http://www.fiftyflowers.com/index.asp?Pa...
Reply:You could try online, also ask a florist shop if they could tell you where they get their flowers. Also ask them if they could sell you the flowers. They may be willing to give the flowers for a discount because you're buying in bulk. If they give you their wholesaler, see if you could get the florist a discount because the florist shop recommended the wholesaler. You may even be able to get a discount because of the florist. It's worth a try.

Good luck!
Reply:SAMS CLUB.COM TRY THAT. I am not sure if they deliver to Ontario. but 35 stems/$60.
Reply:Try California, Calla lilies grow there in abundance. I think Canada/America have a process for fruits, vegatables and plants. Call your customs office and find out what the importing laws are.

Where is a good place to buy wholesale silk flower bunches in bulk? I do have a tax ID number.?

If you're ever in Los Angeles, there are numerous silk flower wholesalers (many also sell to the public as well and everything is negotiable too). Specific areas in Downtown Los Angeles is Wall Street %26amp; Maple Street, between 6th Street through 10th Street (numerous businesses of this type that offers silk flowers in bulk, however, not the safest of neighborhoods). This area is known as the "L.A. Downtown Flower Mart".

Also consider contacting the Los Angeles Gift Mart in Downtown L.A.. or San Francisco. They may be able to send you a directory. In theses directories,it should contain numerous wholesale contacts. If you don't live in the west coast, consider the gift marts located in Georgia and New York.

Hope this helps you. Good luck on your search!

Anyone know where to find cheap fresh cut flowers in the Boston area?

I know there are wholesale dealers for the florists, but what about those of us who are just normal people. Where can I get loose fresh cut flowers (not in a bouquet) and not pay pre-arranged arrangement prices?

Anyone know where to find cheap fresh cut flowers in the Boston area?
Sorry I am not familiar with specific flower shops in the Boston area, but what you are looking for is a Flower Market. They are a lot cheaper and they sell flowers individually so you can make your own bouquets or whatever. Try to search for flower markets in boston.

Good luck!

Does anyone know the difference in price of flowers in LA flower district?

What is the price difference between someone who is buying flowers with a permit which i think would be wholesale and going as general public to buy? Say a dozen roses

Does anyone know the difference in price of flowers in LA flower district?
The biggest price difference is based on volume. People buying with a wholesale license will not buy a dozen roses. They will buy 20 dozens. The flower mart sells to flower shops. If you buy direct from the flower mart you will always pay less than the local florist and get fresher flowers
Reply:. There are a LOT of variables.

The 'flower' site below might give you an idea. About $1.75 each wholesale. Then maybe sell them for $2.

Or this site @ http://www.onlinewholesaleflowers.com/Va... ; ... $1.40 each.

Do you know where is flower wholesale market near Philadelphia?

yes

Know of any reliable online wholesale or bulk flower shops?

A "true" wholesaler will not sell to the public. They request your retailers license number before the sale. Wholesale used in advertising to the public, is a good indicator you are about to be ripped off. You may find savings if buying large amounts in bulk but the shipping may eat that up.
