Reply:where abouts are you? In london you can get up very very early and go to the wholesale market... or ask a market trader at your local market for ideas or they may even supply you at reasonable cost..... search yellow pages (old but good way) or again try the net...........

been married 30 yrs this week and wondering why???
Reply:try e bay or google or do you live by a supplyer look in yellow pages if in uk
Reply:If you're in or near London the best place is New Covent Garden. Have to get there early though.
Reply:Wholesalers usually will not sell to the general public unless you are an actual retail merchant and have a certificate to prove it. You can however sometimes buy the flowers from a florist at a decent price if you tell them you JUST want the cut flowers and dont' need it arranged or made into bouquets. There are sometimes farmers' type markets open in larger cities as well, but it depends on where you live whether or not you have access to one. Certain stores sell cut flowers at pretty decent prices...some grocery stores even, though I know from personal experience that we (My family has been in the florist business for many years) sell cut flowers for less than what you would pay for them at the grocery store or Home Depot or any of the other retail locations. Your best bet is to look up all the florists and greenhouses in your area and then call them up, asking for prices for CUT flowers by the bunch just for pickup and just wrapped up in paper, nothing that a designer needs to do. You will not be able to ask for 3 roses or 2 stems of lilies though (you can, but it is more expensive stem by stem), etc.... if you want good prices you will need to buy them by the bunch or at least by the dozen if it's roses you are looking for. The least expensive flowers are alstromeria, mini carnations, daisies, pomps (florist cut chyrsanthemums) and filler flowers like waxflower, statice, caspia or monte casino. Tulips are inexpensive and very readily available right now, but if your wedding is not going to be soon, they might be pricier at a different time of year. Roses, Lilies, calla lilies, orchids, stephanotis, gardenia, etc.... are the pricier flowers and some are also a special order item.
